- This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
- There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

I haven't heard anything from Minnesota yet. I think VT got his app in before the fellowship deadline, and so that's why he's heard early. (At least that's what I've gathered from his posts.)
I got my stuff in just before the Jan. 15th deadline, so I think those of us who got our materials in by then haven't heard yet.
tengao, have you posted your stats in the profile thread? you really should.
VT, what are you thinking about Minnesota? Or are you waiting to hear from some of the other schools on your list before you make a decision? And if you don't mind saying, where else have you gotten in? We're applying to a lot of the same schools: Minnesota, Michigan, Maryland, Ohio State.

I was accepted from Wisc-Madison,too. Brown gave me a phone call, so I do not know what that means. Madison on the top on my list, right now. I am waiting to hear from Cornell and UIUC.( MIT and Princeton are out of the question)

Madison on the top on my list, right now.
It seems like Madison is a popular pick this year.

I wonder if they interview only the international applicants. Maybe it helps them get an idea of how good their English skills are or something. What did they ask you about, tengao?
Looking at the gradcafe site (which doesn't have that much data from Minnesota), it looks like they generally send out acceptances in mid February. Which means that if we don't hear from them today, I would think it would be early next week.
At least I hope so. I really want to hear back from them, as I think they're the non-safety school of mine that I think I have the best shot of getting into.

It's somewhere in the cold scary void. Where people live in grass huts.

And eat chapatis and dal bat. Plus I'm pretty sure that is where garden was born. (as well as yours truly, but I'm not garden)
cold scary void
like on the top of Mt. Everest, but it gets very hot in the southern lowlands by India. (guess I just assumed everyone knew about Nepal!)

Some people's knowledge is limited by the fact that they can only get dial-up internet access in their grass hut communities.
