GRE Test Prep (including physics)

Post by zubmil223 » Tue Dec 04, 2007 3:26 pm

hey everybody,

I'm soo happy. I just scored a 800 in quantitative, 750 in verbal and a 5 on the analytical writing section. While I studied a lot and while the kaplan books helped build my knowledge base, I really got the hang of the GRE with their great adaptive tests and verbal and math skill builders on http://www.thenewgre.com. Their interactive flash cards also helped to increase my vocab and it really helped. Many of their questions were representative of what I saw on the real GRE exam. I'm so happy with my score and just wanted to let you guys know what I used to study..

good luck everybody!

DON BE SO HAPPY, wid your GENERAL GRE Score!
Its not worth anything in PHYSICS!!

What is your Physics GRE! If it is above 900, then you can be happy!
Good luck to you too!

By the way,
I also got 800 in Q and 790 in verbal and 6 in writing WITHOUT USING KAPLAN, BARRON, OR any other *** available in the market!!!

I took an OXFORD dictionary and read meanings from there!!
And for the Quantutative, I did not know until the test day that they also had Q section in GRE, SO i hope you understood what I am talking about!!

LESSON:
WE do not need KAPLAN or VAPLAN, or BARRON OR FARRON!
Ps,
I am an international STUDENT!
All that *** above is not completely true!

hahahha RG ur hilarious!

yea, those kaplan and barron's books are riddled with flawed, unrealistic questions, especially in the verbal. the only prep book I recommend is the official ETS one. Those questions (almost) always have one fair answer.

I had a kaplan book and kept getting so many questions wrong without understanding why, but when I got the ETS one, the questions made sense and I got all of them right except for a few errors on my part or for not knowing one of the vocab words.

Actually, I have a Kaplan book and I found it quite accurate and helpful. In any case, if you really didn't care about your score you would protest by refusing to take the test....

Twistor,
I guess you are tryin to twist the argument here!
My guess is that zubmil223 is not a student but somebody who is simply trying to advertise KAPLAN books on this forum, ( jus my guess ok). Thats what the humor was for!!
I hope you get it now!

RG:

I know it's just forum spam, but I thought it was a good place to point out that I actually like my Kaplan books....
