Duke vs Rutgers vs TAMU

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

Duke vs Rutgers vs TAMU

Post by krisna » Wed Mar 26, 2014 9:49 am

Hi,

I have got offers from Duke, Rutgers and Texas A&M, and as a result having a difficult time to choose between them. I am mainly concerned about theoretical condensed matter and string theory groups at these universities. Duke has Center for Geometry and Theoretical Physics, TAMU has got some eminent string theorists like Beckers and Rutgers also has a good string group. But as far as condensed matter is concerned TAMU and Rutgers seems better. Would like to hear from people in this forum with respect to both condensed matter and string theory...
