Plz help me.. so disappoint with my PGRE score

Post by Yvonne Chan » Tue Dec 11, 2012 3:16 am

Hi, guys
I am applying to 2013 fall Ph.D. in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering.
However, I got very very bad score with my PGRE: 670/990 (49%)
Since the school website says: the subject GRE is (strongly) recommend (means not required...)
Should I attach this poor score with my application?
Here is my other information:
Background: Physics/EE
GPA:3.6/4.0 & 4.0/4.0
I also have some research experiences and journal papers.
Thanks a lot!

This thread should help you http://www.physicsgre.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4968
but pretty much you should always send it. Also that is not too bad of a score.

Yeah, your english pretty much gives you away as an international student. And as a first piece of advice, use proper english before you attempt to use any form of colloquial english, else you're just going to confuse yourself. So use "please" instead of "plz", for instance.

And well, try schools in the 50-100 range. You might have a shot there. But to be honest I'm probably more worried about your TOEFL score.
