I was wondering what the general opinion of Purdue University was by the "physics community" if such a thing has meaning. I suppose I am really wondering how it compares to similar public research institutions in the Midwest.
Sure I've checked out the US News and World Report rankings, but that's not really what I am looking for.
What is the quality of the research being done there? What's the atmosphere in the physics Department like (snarky vs. non-snarky)? What is the perceived quality of the PhD's that come out of there et cetera.
Been awhile since I was on, good to be back. Thanks ahead for any insight.
