Hello,
I would like to have an opinion of you..
I am a European student and I've been selected as a principal candidate for the Fulbright Fellowship (the IIE Placed, they give me funds for the first year of PhD). To be a principal cadidate means that is *quite* probable that I will get the fellowship.
Nevertheless they told me I shall take the GRE General again since I got Q:750, V:410, W:3 (especially because of the verbal score.. although they like my quantitative score). Actually, I also planned to take again the PGRE, since I got 930 (89%) and I think I may prepare it better than the last time. The problem is that I don't have the time to prepare well both the tests.
What would you suggest me to do? GGRE or PGRE?
Thank you!
GGRE or PGRE?
Re: GGRE or PGRE?
If I were you I would do the GGRE again, not the PGRE.
Is your mother tongue English ? If yes, then I think it's a no brainer, do the GGRE again !

Re: GGRE or PGRE?
I think that the PGRE score is very good and it is a huge risk to take it again. If your grades are good, you have research experience and good recommendation letters then the probability to be admitted by a top school increases.
This quantitative score I think can ruin your application. So, take it again.

Re: GGRE or PGRE?
GGRE.
930 PGRE is solid even for an international applicant. At this point you'd have to study many hours for a marginal improvement in your PGRE score, whereas those same hours would net you a much larger score increase in your GGRE. Know where you are on the learner's curve and act accordingly.

Re: GGRE or PGRE?
I'm not mother tongue English, indeed the verbal part is very difficult to me! (and very boring) I will need at least one month to prepare it.
I have to say I expected you to suggest me to take the PGRE, anyway it seems that a 930 is good when you have a Fulbright, at least someone says so.
Thank you again !
PS
I'll be waiting for possible opposite opinions

Re: GGRE or PGRE?
Your PGRE score is great, however you verbal score is awful. If you have to make a choice, retake the general GRE and focus on vocab words in your studying.
