Haha... seeing this poll almost made me wish that I didn't hate ETS so I could make some obnoxious pro-ETS comment  ... sadly that's not the case

Also, maybe I'm just dense, but what is BCS? When I hear that acronym, I can only think of Bryan - College Station ... but unless you're from Austin, I can't think of any particularly good reasons to hate it.

Ok... I'm an idiot... I figured out what BCS is     .. I guess it's pretty obvious that I don't watch much football.

I was thinking we could incriminate ETS for a crime to destroy it. Maybe rob a bank and distribute practice GREs and GRE forms so that it would be obvious that ETS did it.

I suppose that I am still bitter about having to pay them nearly $500 to take away all of my self-esteem and confidence.

Know this is a dead thread, but I think it is funny that this question seems to come up every year.

ETS is a terrible company, proving why capitalism does not work with monopolies. ETS has no incentive to make life easier for us as long as grad schools put no pressure on them to fix it. We should consider ourselves lucky that the cost and headaches aren't worse.

I have changed my opinon on the GRE physics. I still can't see how it is a good measuring tool for education or potential, but apperently a lot of people at top schools do. It was funny how different the professors at my school felt about the exam, as opposed to those at Harvard; something I didn't realize the first time around.

Guess that means I will be tenured at a medicore school, if I am lucky

I have no idea how they rank for physics, but you will have a very hard time convincing me that the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics is not the best place in the world to study astronomy. The institution has over 300 PHD astronomers there, which I think is more than any other place.

No, by that logic it would be the worse place, because if the astronomers were any good then they wouldn't need so many of them.

Couldn't tell if you were being serious or not in the post I responded too. I do enjoy most of your posts.

There is a thread in the prospective grad section that could use twistor response.

I would have more humor if I wasn't using Helio's duct tape to keep my figure hidden right now.
