where can i go?

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

compare your profile to the averages for the schools and to other people to get a sense of which schools you should apply to. That's the best answer anyone can give you, the rest of the work you have to do for yourself.

Pull up this link: http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandr ... phy/search

Go through the research section on each of the those schools (it took me couple of months) and identify the faculty members you're interested in working with.

In essence, make your own ranking based on your area of interest and apply to each one of them (and also try to build contact with professors you're interested in working with).

It's too late for the upcoming Fall semester (unless you want to go to the less competitive schools). You might want to apply for Spring 2010 (even though not all school admit students for Spring).

Best wishes.
