Looking for some more physics students around RI

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

Looking for some more physics students around RI

Post by selmanjones » Sun Nov 09, 2008 5:06 pm

Hi all,
I come from a small school in Rhode Island and have only three other physics majors in my school. Unfortunately two of them are education oriented and the other is not really interested in graduate school. I am looking for some other students around RIC for study groups, attend conferences, whatever just trying to expand out my horizons.

I'm in a worse situation at my school up in New York -- my graduating class has two physics majors (we're both double majors), and the other is more interested in Computer Science than physics.

yes I feel your pain... at my school the two education majors are done with their physics education and me and the only other one take our last upper level course together. Talk about departmental pressure. I am our entire research program!
