I wanted to acknowledge garden's third return to the forum that took place when we least expected it on Monday, May 26, 2008.
I was appalled by Tickets's post because he should know that in this forum, we do not need a proof that God exists, since we wouldn't care either way... On physicsgre.com, we worship garden!
garden clearly is a kind god. He wants us to find our own way... but when it is most needed, he will not hesitate to provide us with heavenly advice. as this year's users begin to slip away from the forum, garden bestowed upon them some eternally useful advice...
garden's advice was to switch from heavy, bulky textbooks to computerized books. He insinuated this fact with his post:

BOOKS?
I have packing all of my book to a single box, it is weighted 200grm!
E->W
However, we mortals were not sublimely intelligent enough to recognize what he was saying. But garden, being a kind god, came back again to clarify the meaning of his words so we would not forever be lost in confusion.

The same day I saw garden's post, I saw an ad in Scientific American magazine about a new device they're coming out with... it's a e-book reader, a portable device with a screen that can be used to display e-books (it's not a computer screen because like an etchasketch it doesn't require continuous power to display a page. it also wouldn't be uncomfortable to look at like a webpage on a computer monitor).
Later on, I dug out a CD that a friend of mine had burned for me 3 years ago, it contins tons of PDF files of physics stuff... I realized that Griffith's quantum text, which I always wanted a copy of, was on that disk the whole time!!! if only I had paid closer attention to what was on that disk... I've come to the realization ... e-books will be the new big thing. Thanks to garden's words, we can save ourselves from lugging hundreds of pounds of books across the country, and if we make the switch now, it will help us immensely over the next 5-6 years.
As for the heiroglyphic "E->W", I believe that because garden's post was on the "Who's moving out of state?" therad, he is implying that he's moving from the East coast to the West coast for graduate school.
Incredible. Thank you Father!
