I approve of this message and its use of the word "meatspace"

I took twistor's advice and went out into meatspace last night. I feel much better today. Yesterday I just flipped out so my apologies. I guess it's the stress of of my last semester as an undergrad, trying to prepare a presentation for the March meeting, and waiting for admissions decisions. I just didn't like the how it was implied that the people on this board don't like foreigners and are not helpful. This board has been very helpful to me, and I appreciate everyone who takes the time to post here.

Another thing that is frustrating for all of us is when we see others accepted to programs we applied to, while we haven't heard anything. When people started saying Cornell was sending acceptances, I was very excited to check my mail for the first few days. Then it started to sink in that I wasn't in the first wave, and that got me down a little. I would have never thought about it if I didn't see the posts on this board. So while this board is great, it can also cause some stress for some of us!
