Schools with late deadlines?

Are there any decent grad schools with deadlines March 1st and after (that do include financial aid)?

I ask this because I would rather not bother applying to too many safety schools unless I really need them. So I'd like to, if possible, wait until late February and if I haven't been admitted anywhere, then start doing some safeties.

Thoughts?

The University of Waterloo has a deadline of March 1. It's not at all a bad school, the only thing is that its graduate program is split with the University of Guelph, which isn't as prestigious in physics IMO, but it has a late deadline. It's in a nice small city only 70 miles from downtown Toronto.

Thanks, I'll keep Waterloo in mind. It looks like it'd be in my best interest not to wait... Maryland's cumbersome application turned me off of the whole safety school idea, but I have all winter break to screw around with them haha!

Canadian Schools in General seem to have later deadlines. McGill and UBC are pretty late too. Also end of Feb - ish

Just checked, UBC deadline is March 1st for Canadian and US students, Feb 1st for everyone else.

UBC I think is among the top 3 in Canada generally and in physics, and probably on par with the top 20 or so the US. Plus Vancouver just got rated best city in the world , go Canada!

Unfortunately for some of us, UBC lists on their website that they require a minimum physics GRE of 850. Not sure how closely they stick to that (especially since they still list requirements for the old analytical section on the general GRE), but I'm not sure I want to pay the ridiculous application fee to find out. I would love to live in Vancouver though!

Which obviously makes it the best city...

I'm not sure if there's a causal relationship, but I don't logically see the two being mutually exclusive.

Easy now. Maybe you should come and visit.
UBC is beautiful, but the university is large (>50,000) and can be quite impersonal and disconnected. Still quite a good school though.

I can't justify visiting when I can get drugs right here at home... :)
