Making contact with current students and sitting in classes

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

Making contact with current students and sitting in classes

Post by imagine » Mon Sep 17, 2007 11:09 am

Hi,

I always see advice like "talk with the current students in the major" and "sit in on some classes" to get to know a school/ major etc.

However, how could I get to know the current students in the major and their contacts? I have some ideas but not sure! And won't some classes which involve student participation (e.g. class attendance, labs etc) be hard to sit in? And how do you decide or know when to sit in?

Sorry if it sounds stupid! Thanks!
