Just reached out to the Diversity Dean organizing that event and she confirmed my acceptanceTacosbeforevatos wrote:I am also an URM student and did not get that email. So maybe you'll hear good news soon.ndrach wrote:I just got an email from Brown inviting me to some minority admitted grad student visit day (I'm a domestic hispanic applicant), but I haven't yet received any official or unofficial email from the physics department or any professors. Here is the relevant part of the text of the email I received:
Did anyone else get this email? On Monday, March 20, Brown Graduate School will host newly accepted students who are members of historically underrepresented groups for a free daylong event. Won't you join us?
Does that mean you heard from them?corebake wrote:Fixedcorebake wrote:Still waiting on Berkeley...any day now

I called them on Monday and they said they had sent out the majority of acceptances, but that I could contact POI to know about my particular application. Sent an email to the prof, no reply, so I'm assuming I'm rejected.akander wrote:Is UCSB done?
However, considering the wave of acceptance in Grad Cafe last year, it seems that more acceptance is coming. Is your POI referring to acceptance in a particular field or what?blinkmiss wrote:I called them on Monday and they said they had sent out the majority of acceptances, but that I could contact POI to know about my particular application. No, I didn't speak to my POI. The graduate affairs administrative person on the phone told me most acceptances (for all fields) are out already, so the chances of getting admitted are low, but that I can ask my POI to make sure. I emailed my POI but haven't got a reply.coolman wrote:However, considering the wave of acceptance in Grad Cafe last year, it seems that more acceptance is coming. Same here, I have a feeling that today they are going to send all remaining decisions.ivorchen wrote:Shall I wait on Cornell? No rejection, no acceptance. No response to my email. Any idea?
I got my unofficial acceptance from Brown yesterday and was told I would get the official acceptance in the next couple of days so I'd say there is still some hopebunnysid wrote:Any official acceptances from Brown or Stony Brook recently? I emailed Minnesota asking about my application status they gave me the following reply:
"We hope to have all admissions decisions sent within the next week. We have been submitting them to the University, but as you can imagine we have an extensive amount of applicants so it takes some time. Thank you for your patience."
May I know which field did u apply?ndrach wrote:I got my unofficial acceptance from Brown yesterday and was told I would get the official acceptance in the next couple of days so I'd say there is still some hopebunnysid wrote:Any official acceptances from Brown or Stony Brook recently? Let's hope for the best I haven't seen any rejections from Brown anywhere this year but I fear that most acceptances have been sent already.ndrach wrote:I got my unofficial acceptance from Brown yesterday and was told I would get the official acceptance in the next couple of days so I'd say there is still some hopebunnysid wrote:Any official acceptances from Brown or Stony Brook recently? And it's a rejection. Got rejected also from UW Madison. I lost any hope for a top school. What a beautiful dayaewais13 wrote:Same here, I have a feeling that today they are going to send all remaining decisions.ivorchen wrote:Shall I wait on Cornell? No rejection, no acceptance. Looks like caltech is done.stronglycoupled wrote:Does anybody know if Caltech is done with their acceptances? I'm still waiting on Caltech and UCLA.
Haha I just thought they were taking a break. But yeah, it's reasonable that they're done I guess, since their program is very small. All right, thanks! All the best to those accepted.grenupet wrote:Looks like caltech is done.stronglycoupled wrote:Does anybody know if Caltech is done with their acceptances? I'm still waiting on Caltech and UCLA.
Not sure if they are done but the UCLA astronomy open house is on 3/3 and 3/4 and the physics open house is on 3/9 and 3/10.stronglycoupled wrote:Does anybody know if Caltech is done with their acceptances? I'm still waiting on Caltech and UCLA.
Berkeley Physics finally sending out decisions!tattooedphysicist wrote:Just heard from Berkeley, at long last!
That (the rejection) sucks :/bunnysid wrote:Got an official rejection from Minnesota today. 7 schools remaining not even heard a peep from them.
Any news from Brown or Stony Brook??Tacosbeforevatos wrote:That (the rejection) sucks :/bunnysid wrote:Got an official rejection from Minnesota today. 7 schools remaining not even heard a peep from them.
Me? Nope. Though I expect a rejection from Stony brook in the next few days based on last year's pattern...bunnysid wrote:Any news from Brown or Stony Brook??Tacosbeforevatos wrote:That (the rejection) sucks :/bunnysid wrote:Got an official rejection from Minnesota today. 7 schools remaining not even heard a peep from them.
UC Davis made me an offer two weeks ago. I have already declined their offer so maybe there are a few more to go. Their open house is on 3/3 and 3/4. Good luck!TheTacoPrincess wrote:Any news on Brown, UCSB, or UC Davis? Should I be expecting more decisions soon?
