Cool man, maybe i'm not that cool yet. So weird because Montana basically said 'decide' through this link, lol. At least Chicago astro invited to an open house in March.Catria wrote: Minnesota made my funding offer clear: $18,330 for 9 months of TA, $6,110 for summer funding.

I'm waiting for the first round of rejections to come through. Only then will I know if I dare hope.

Actually, I think the Boulder decision on TGC might also be a fake, given that no other post has been made saying that Boulder has sent out decisions.
Re: Decision Dates
There have been a few for astro from Boulder on TGC, but I don't know. There's one reported phone call acceptance from Harvard astro now, too...gradapp2015 wrote:Actually, I think the Boulder decision on TGC might also be a fake, given that no other post has been made saying that Boulder has sent out decisions.
Re: Decision Dates
Can anyone admitted to Minnesota confirm that there is no information whatsoever concerning the department-sponsored prospective student visits weekend on their acceptance letters?
Kapusta claims that the information is available on the acceptance letter (all of them say that there is guaranteed summer RA, 9-month TA, for $24,440 total, plus health insurance valued at $4,346, and $2,500 for moving expenses) yet there is no trace of the open house weekend on my acceptance letter.

Re: Decision Dates
Indiana Bloomington has sent out at least one acceptance. I didn't post it on the grad cafe yet but I got it with funding details three or four days ago.

I was wondering if anybody's heard from NYU? And if so, how many offers were sent out.

Do you think Washington has finished giving out acceptances? I thought that they were a relatively safe school for me and I still haven't heard back

I was accepted to Ohio State and Purdue last week!
University of Washington-Seattle? I wouldn't really call that school a safety... but it also depends on your field...
Some schools do it in waves, so you never know. Good luck!

As of this morning there is a non-Astro acceptance to Boulder I personally know of. So I doubt the ones on gradcafe are fake.Actually, I think the Boulder decision on TGC might also be a fake, given that no other post has been made saying that Boulder has sent out decisions.

That was me :p and I assure you that I am not fake XD. It is curious that there aren't more than two boulder entries on TGC; perhaps they send out smaller batches.gradapp2015 wrote:Actually, I think the Boulder decision on TGC might also be a fake, given that no other post has been made saying that Boulder has sent out decisions.

AHHH! just got an email from Stanford Applied Physics saying that a decision has been made and to await a 2nd email later on in the day. What a tease... excruciating waiting period ensues.

lol, an email i got last week (from different dept/school) said they'd call me to deliver "good news." i would've died if they called just to tell me my application was complete and under review... ultimate trolling.PhysicsIsCool wrote:SAME this is torturezhuk wrote:AHHH! just got an email from Stanford Applied Physics saying that a decision has been made and to await a 2nd email later on in the day. yeah but given the list of acceptances already on grad cafe, i am not holding my breath on an offer to their program. I think it is a mass reject mailing list that you can't reply to is what they're telling us. but maybe that's me being pessimistic.PhysicsIsCool wrote:SAME this is torturezhuk wrote:AHHH! just got an email from Stanford Applied Physics saying that a decision has been made and to await a 2nd email later on in the day. I feel you man, Stanford was my top choice. I am currently in a no-name masters program so other than getting a job I kinda have to accept i might not ever go to an Ivy/top 5 program despite working for years towards that goal.

What gives? It's 5:21 Stanford time, where are our rejection letters? Seriously! Making us wait 5+ hours for a decision is just adding insult to injury at this point, if it really is a mass rejection...zhuk wrote:What gives? It's probably too soon to worry. I'm pretty sure lots of schools don't start sending acceptances until the first or second weeks of February.astro_orion wrote:I've applied to 15 schools (including 3 that were due on Dec 15th) and have yet to hear anything back yet

Sorry to keep blowing up this thread...but has anyone heard from Applied Physics at Stanford yet?
I've been waiting almost 9 hours for the second e-mail with the admissions decision. I'd have been fine with waiting a few hours...but this is to the point where it has disrupted my entire day, and now it's keeping me from sleeping. Not a good start to the week.

Just out of curiosity, did they send out acceptance emails on Sunday? I thought the people there only worked in the weekdays, but I'm not so sure..PhysicsIsCool wrote:Sorry to keep blowing up this thread...but has anyone heard from Applied Physics at Stanford yet?

Re: Decision Dates
According to gradcafe, there were some acceptances sent on Saturday. On Sunday it seems at least a few of is got an ~ominous~ email that told us we'd receive our admissions decisions in a second email later in the day. Seems like a mass rejection but who knows at this point. It's Monday my time now so I'm pretty annoyed by the whole situation because I've been waiting 10+ hours since the first email. And I still don't know my status. :/Cho'bal wrote:Just out of curiosity, did they send out acceptance emails on Sunday? What is going on with NYU? I have seen some admits on GradCafe but still can't figure out the subfield to which the offers were made.

Wow, that must suck. They sure know how to ruin someone's day.
And it's already past 10 PM at Stanford. I'm not sure how they'll send mails "later in the day"...
Re: Decision Dates
Thanks! I'm glad I didn't apply to Stanford after looking at all the recent posts on here . I've got a nice little selection of schools to choose from (although nothing top tier or anything), so I'm quite happy.PhysicsIsCool wrote:Congratulations!djh101 wrote:Acceptance from Oregon. Sorry to hear about all the difficulties, Stanford people. I hope everything gets worked out soon.
Re: Decision Dates
Hi, my Stanford Application status is still incomplete, though it seems they received all the documents. Does anyone have the same thing?
P.S. On their webpage they ask not to disturb them with such questions.

Mine says incomplete as well. They say they will email you if your application is actually incomplete. So I wouldn't worry about it.

USC acceptance! All >50 schools so far, but still a nice selection to choose from.

Re: Decision Dates
I think I see why USC is ranked so low in physics now. Everything awesome about it is technically part of the electrical engineering department, which is in the top 20 on U.S. News.
Re: Decision Dates
On Wolverine Access (Michigan), I now see the buttons "Accept/Decline financial aid, Financial planning calculators, My scholarship profile". Is that something that happens with everyone today or it happens to people that are about to receive an acceptance letter?
Re: Decision Dates
I also have those buttons, but when I click "Accept/Decline Financial Aid" for example, nothing shows up. So, it's probably not anything, but I like getting my hopes up, so maybe it is! I'm applied to astro for what it's worth
