After receiving a response from schools,

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

After receiving a response from schools, am I supposed to e-mail back and say something like "Thanks, cool cool, I'll give you a heads up when I make my choice yo?" Or do I not respond, and wait til I've made a decision?

In all seriousness, if it isn't a safety school, I would start trying to contact profs, inquiring about the availability of GSR support for this summer, planning open house visits, etc. Don't bother obviously if you're pretty sure you aren't going there, but getting all this information together before 4/15 is a good thing.
