Does Caltech require a diversity statement?

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

Does Caltech require a diversity statement?

Post by transparent_silvery » Sat Dec 10, 2011 4:55 am

I'm going through the application form of Caltech, and I don't notice any diversity statement or related fields of entry.

Is it true that Caltech does NOT require a diversity statement? If it does, would you please tell me where in the application form I should look for it?

Thanks

No it doesn't. Caltech ugrad admissions is unique among elite schools in that it doesn't even practice affirmative action (obviously, grad admissions differs from ugrad ones, but I'd still imagine that Caltech wouldn't value it more than other schools).
