Re: 2011 Open House Information
Cornell just informed us of the open house date, so I figured I'd get this year's thread kicked off. Post up if you know some more.

Re: 2011 Open House Information
Sorry to start this already, but for astro at Texas-Austin, the visiting weekend seems to be March 3rd-5th. The visit time for Cornell astro is the same as physics. Ohio State astro doesn't seem to make a given weekend the visit weekend, as a couple of us from Iowa State are visiting on different weekends of OSU's choosing.

Caltech open house applied physics
Does anyone know what percentage of people who get invited to caltech's applied physics open house get accepted?

I bet they don't even know that. If it works like most places do, they've invited the minimum number that guarantees they fill their admissions quota, after some of their top picks choose other schools/get in trouble for academic fraud/other unfortunate calamities. My guess would be in the low to mid 90's for a percentile, though some people will have to wait for others to withdraw their application/reject the offer.
Remember that open houses cost a lot of money, so they aren't going to waste theirs on someone who they don't want to admit (I'm assuming its all-expenses paid, but I didn't apply to Cal Tech so I wouldn't know).
