i doubt because Michel did not list yale in his profile and this person got rejected by yale...

Yale University Physics, PhD Rejected via E-mail on 13 Feb 2009 I 13 Feb 2009 Rejected from Yale (#11 in physics) but accepted to Berkeley (top 3 in physics) ????? HAHA ironic, Berkeley was my top choice and Yale my safety school.

Got a phone call from a UCSC professor this morning which sounded like I was due for an interview. After calming down, I called him in the afternoon and got what sounded like an effective admission.

He said that the admissions committee hadn't met to make its final decisions yet, but that I should "expect a decision soon

". I got an acceptance email from NYU a few hours later, too!

Congrats to everyone else that's heard back so far, and for those of you that haven't, sit tight! It's still really early in the season.

Another here for UIUC (e-mail last Friday). I don't know if chocolate got the same one, but mine was a very unofficial e-mail. It was from a non-admissions faculty member, to the effect of "You are going to be accepted, and I want to tell you about this fellowship ... " So I doubt we're even in the first wave yet.
