- This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
- There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

I was one of the three girls at JHU open house, and then we met at the CMU weekend too. Did JHU sent you some kind of confirmation after you accepted their offer? I haven't heard from them since the open house, I don't know whether I should be worried at this point...
No I haven't heard a word from them yet. I did e-mail a professor just to make sure someone knew that it was coming, but no word from the office. I faxed in my acceptance last Friday, and sent a follow up e-mail, because I never feel like I can trust a fax machine.

44 people accepted an offer of admission to Berkeley physics this year.
3/44 deferring for a year
17/44 applied listing theory as their main interest
14/44 did undergrad outside of the US
Something may have to give on those numbers for theory... even if a handful of those students end up doing non-traditional theoretical physics that's still a lot of students to absorb into the theory groups.

If you can do theoretical particle physics well, then regardless of what school you go to, nobody is going to doubt your intelligence. Of course, nobody is now either

. Best of luck.

Hi,
I am going to Northern Illinois University for Experimental Particle Physics. Is there anybody attending NIU?
