How selective is UChicago?
Hi,
I was wondering how selective the University of Chicago is, in particular for experimental AMO / CM Physics and relative to the following schools: UC Berkeley, University of Washington, and Columbia. Again, this is for experimental AMO / CM.
Thanks.

Re: How selective is UChicago?
Would the standards be about average / below average / above average for someone who wanted to do experimental CM / AMO as opposed to something like Particle Theory? Would this make it significantly easier to get into?
Re: How selective is UChicago?
Above average. Applying to theory in any field at any school is the fastest way to get rejected. Experimental fields are easier to get into if you have experience.

So for experiment, would UChicago be easier or harder to get into relative to Berkeley, UWash, Columbia? Particularly, experimental CM/AMO?

well if the application fee aren't a burden for you, you should apply to as many schools as you want to, but university of chicago is not any easier to get into than any of the other schools that you are naming
