Visiting grad schools
Visiting grad schools
I was just wondering how visiting grad schools for open houses works in the US. Does the university just supply a certain amount of money, and then you have to cover the rest? And if so, are they usually willing to give money to international students (in particular, Canadians)?
Re: Visiting grad schools
For the schools I visited, I was given a reimbursement form for all the expenses (lodging, travel, meals) which I turned in to the department's accounting office.
I'm also from Canada, and all four of the schools I visited were willing to reimburse all my expenses. I suppose they made Canada an exception since travel costs aren't as expensive as flying from other countries (unless you're flying out of Toronto's airport
