Hi, I had finished my three year physics bachelor's degree back in 2021 and after I had to get a job due to financial circumstances. So I got a job into a IT company in 2022 and now I have been working there for approximately a year. I always wanted to do research in astrophysics and that is the reason that I am planning to give PGRE. But I have seen that many people in this forum have been rejected eventhough they have great PGRE scores.
I have no research experience during my undergrad and I am afraid that applying to international universities in USA and UK for a master's program would just be in vain. The fees for PGRE is very expensive in my country.
So I was thinking of doing master's from a decent uni in my country and then try to build a research profile. After that maybe I can think of applying for a PhD overseas. Can anyone help me to clear my confusion ?
In Summary - Can a person with no research experience, good GPA and if possible good PGRE scores will get selected into top universities ?
