This is not a big deal. In many states, it is illegal to offer funding more than a year in advance (for public universities). At some places, they'll unofficially guarantee you a couple of years TA at least, but then you need to find a research advisor with funding--so they can't make long term promises. If in doubt, call and ask. Simply ask if any students in good standing have had to leave because of lack of funding.PhysicsPdx wrote:That seems strange.
