Research field at the interference of theoretical spectroscopy and astrophysics?

Post by Barsik » Sun Oct 17, 2021 1:58 pm

Does a research area in astropectroscopy exist? Possibly with applications of quantum mechanics and spectroscopy to the precise identification of astro spectra. What area is the best in this sense: astrochemistry, molecular astrophysics, star or galaxy formation, or ism? And at least one university (in the middle range tier)?

By any chance, does someone has an idea of what research topics at the interference of theoretical spectroscopy(or observational) and astrophysics are or any direction where to look?

I am not strictly bonded to this area either and I am more than willing to shift a perspective to something more astrophysical.
