Do i have to retake GRE General??

Post by physicist91 » Sun Sep 04, 2016 3:21 am

Hay friends~!
Today, i took GRE General exam in korea south.
I have a good PGRE (i think so :)) as well as GPA; 950/3.93
However, my verbal and quant score are 150/167, respectively.

I want to apply to Uchicago UCLA and UBC. (Astrophysik!!!!!)
In this case, i dont know whether retaking it would be beneficial for me or not.

Anyway i have another chance on Oct but i want to concentrate on my SOP rather than GRE general. However, i think that my score is quite low XD

Is my score for general bad?? (Q 167 V 150)
Do i need to retake it??

The general GRE is not that important for admission as long as it doesn't raise a red flag. Low scores on the verbal + writing parts in combination with low TOEFL can imply that you might have a problem with teaching in English. If your TOEFL (especially the speaking part) is OK I wouldn't bother with the GGRE.
