PHYSICS GRE

Hi,

I am an enginnering undergraduate(electronics) from India.I am working under a professor at the IISC who is a condensed matter physicist(phd princeton).Will it help me in improving my chances of getting into a good physics grad school..?

I am planning to give physics gre this november.. SHOULD I CONCENTRATE ON THE GENERAL GRE TOO? can general gre alone help me in getting into a physics programme?

Finally,is my engineering gpa important if I wish to do a phd or ms in physics?

Hi. From what I was told (by my physics adviser) and the results of my application, I think the verbal part of the general GRE is not important at all. You just need to do well on the math part, which is really easy for an engineering and physics student. My verbal score was really bad (147), but it did not affect my application at all. I haven't had a rejection so far (but probably will later). You should really concentrate on the physics GRE because it's really important for international student. And yes, research experience and good GPA will help your applications.
