Is Transcript for exchange needed in application

I have studied in an oversea institute as an exchange students for one semester. But is the transcript needed when I submit application for graduate school? I am afraid it takes me a long time for applying that from an oversea institute...

I didn't submit my transcript from my study abroad period, because the credits showed up on my university transcript as transfer credits. That seemed to be fine with everyone.

By the way, I am a bit confused by the website of UC San Diego,

so according to this, I only need to submit an upload version transcript when submitting application, isn't it?

yes. I brought an official copy with my during the open house weekend; you just need the official copy once you are accepted in order to register for classes.
