When should I send Transcripts?

Post by ekuphysics » Tue Nov 30, 2010 5:25 pm

A lot of schools have their deadline in early January and my question is should I submit my application with my current transcript not including my current semester grades for these schools or should I wait until my current semester is over and submit my transcript at that point?

One point on this matter is I'm retaking a class that I had previously received a C in, my only C and will most definitely have an A in the course this time. So I would prefer to send the one including this semesters grades, but not at the risk of being one of the later applications received. Please let me know what you think.

We prefer to receive the most up-to-date transcripts. Thus, for schools
with deadlines after your courses have been completed, you should
definitely send transcripts that include Fall semester grades. (Depending
on your school, you may be able to order the transcripts now, but have
the registrar's office delay sending them until your grades are finalized.)
For school's with early- or mid-December deadlines, you should send the
transcripts now so that your folder will be complete. However, you can
always send an updated transcript to those schools once your grades are in.
