Do you only count your upper level physics courses? Or do you also consider Freshman/Sophomore physics/math courses?
Thanks
How do you count your major GPA?
Re: How do you count your major GPA?
Usually the request for the major GPA (in an application form, for example) will tell you how to calculate it.
For me, when I applied and was required to provide this, if there were no instructions, then I chose to count all Physics and Astronomy (but not Math) courses from all years and reported that GPA along with a note that said how I calculated it (the majority of the application forms had a box for the GPA and a box for "notes"). If there was no way I could indicate how I computed it, I emailed the department to ask what they wanted.
