Universities Organized by Research Area

Hi everyone. I haven't posted much in this forum, but I've realized that I frequently perform searches for research topics and what schools have graduate programs in those topics. I would like to start a thread that amalgamates all of this knowledge so people have a good idea of what schools to apply to for their prime research interest. So, I will organize lists of schools for each major research area for which they have an established department. Please let me know if a better resource for this already exists!
I will try to annotate each school with the particular strain of research they do; i.e., LQG = loop quantum gravity, QO = quantum optics...
I feel that they should be ordered by relative prominence in the respective area of research. The number in parenthesis will indicate roughly the number of faculty per research area.
THEORY
HEP-th
Th- Cosmology
EXPERIMENT
AMO
HEP-ex
Please help me add to the list or suggest better ways to organize this.
