Hi,

I am an electronics and communication engineering passout from india. I want to be an astrophysicist as it is my greatest passion and i am planning to do an MS in astrophysics . I have almost finished my preparation for pgre. I am going to give my pgre by April 18,2015. I have requested for a supplementary test center for the exam.

I was checking up the MS astrophysics courses and i could find only a few. Some of which are ivy league and the rest i am hearing lot of negative comments. Some have astro department but they provide astrophysics phd only. Could you please guide so that i can pick some good astrophysics courses. I am not interested that much in an astronomy course. Could you please suggest some alternatives as well?

Even so, most astrophysics masters in the US are obtained after one takes (and usually passes) the quals of a PhD program. You would then be free to transfer to another PhD program if so you wished.
