OSU VS. Gatech

Post by GodVayne » Tue Mar 26, 2013 10:17 am

I'm having a hard time choosing between OSU and Gatech. Both of them have pretty strong research groups in condensed matter experiment. Personally, I'm inclined to go to Gatech as I'm interested in Prof. de Heer's group on graphene. Moreover, Gatech has a better reputation and Atlanta is a bigger city compared to Columbus thus being more ideal for a job hunter. As an international student, I haven't the opportunity to visit the labs so I'm hesitated to make the final decision. Looking forward to your advice, thanks!

My advisor has worked extensively with da Heer and has only positive things to say - if you're interested in his work, go for it.

AFAIK OSU has a much better reputation. At least in physics.
