WHICH SCHOOL SHOULD I CHOSE WITH A BAD GPA?

Post by hni » Sat Aug 07, 2010 12:01 pm

I am going to study year 3 the following semester.
But my major GPA now is 2.25
If I can get a higher GPA after year 3, say about 2.6
which scool can I applied?
and which graudaute school will consider
the final semester more significantly? As it contains more
difficult courses with contents including the courses taken before
thanks

The vast majority of graduate schools require a minimum gpa of 3.0. I'm not sure which schools do not require this, but I would be looking at small state schools. You'll probably have much better chances if you take a year or two extra, retake some classes, and get your gpa above 3.0.

Like Grae said, most programs require a 3.0 undergrad GPA. Off the top of my head I believe UW-Milwaukee and Northern Illinois U only require a 2.75 min GPA. I don't think Iowa State and Michigan State have a min GPA requirement.

Check out http://www.gradschoolshopper.com/ to search for more schools. Pick a location then start looking at schools in that state. Probably best to look at schools you've never heard of because they're more likely to have a lower GPA (or no GPA) requirement.

Good luck!
