I want to know which are the good schools for quantum optics? Not necessarily the usual MIT Harvard Caltech... but anyone with some inside information? I heard that University of New Mexico is ranked 1 or 2 for quantum optics- are there any other such schools which are not in the top 10 but are very good for this field?

After all the talk on this forum about what makes a program "good" or not you think people would've dropped this idea of arbitrary rankings by now. There is no objective criterion for judging the quality of a program in general, let alone in a specific subject area. Therefore any ranking assigned to a program is highly suspect and generally meaningless.
