Universities with good faculties on Early Universe Cosmology

Post by Aritra Kundu » Fri Apr 03, 2020 3:55 am

Hi, I am a prospective graduate student applicant and I'm going to apply for the academic session 2021. I have been working on 21 cm cosmology, specially on the topic of Reionization. I looked into some universities with a strong faculty on Early Universe Cosmology, specialising on Reionization and formation of early structures. But I didn't find much of them, so I was wondering if anyone can help me in this regard. As far as I know, the universities in the US are chosen based on their graduate programs. So I would like to get a list of universities with a good graduate program on Astronomy/Astrophysics/Cosmology with strong focus on early universe cosmology, specially 21 cm cosmology. I know Harvard has a some good faculty members who work on early universe cosmology like Avi Loeb and Cora Dvorkin, but I think it will be way above my league. I have submitted a paper in an APS journal based on the work I did in my BSc and also would try to submit another paper before applying to the universities.

I do not know about the US, but Univ. of Tokyo has a center dedicated to Early Universe studies. Check this one out.
