Re: PSI Early Consideration
I also applied early and have heard nothing. Most optimistic reading of this is that we're in contention, but they wanted to wait until the full applicant pool before deciding. This also agrees with what they say in their FAQ, though it would be nice to hear anything...
Re: PSI Early Consideration
What I meant is that they can't send an offer to those who applied early before they finish reviewing the profiles of those who applied by the second deadline. They have to compare us with the new applicants before giving their final decision.
Re: PSI Early Consideration
I understand your meaning. OK, let us continue waiting. good luck. But I feel strange that why nobody receives decline. As they said in the website, 'The early deadline, November 1, was created to allow completed applications to receive early consideration. This will allow students early notice to pursue other graduate opportunities if they are not accepted into PSI."ES wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 1:01 amWhat I meant is that they can't send an offer to those who applied early before they finish reviewing the profiles of those who applied by the second deadline. Re: PSI Early Consideration
It's been 14 days since the second deadline. Do you think we are gonna hear from them today/next week?
Re: PSI Early Consideration
Has anyone heard anything from Perimeter yet. It's 26 days now and they still haven't contacted the applicants?I was really expecting them to atleast mail people by now about the delay.
Re: PSI Early Consideration
someone in grad cafe said that he/she had gotten offer this week. So I think I may be rejected.

Re: PSI Early Consideration
Please, I think I'm getting this wrong. Are you guys saying some have been accepted while others are yet to get reply?
Please, help a soul.

Re: PSI Early Consideration
Yes. Some from both deadlines have not heard anything at all, some from both deadlines have been accepted.
Re: PSI Early Consideration
Regular deadline applicant here. Got an interview notice on 26 Feb and had my interview with two faculties on 27 Feb, who told me to 'expect a decision early... not as early as tomorrow though.' To my surprise I got my offer on 29 Feb! They required me to make a decision by 10 Mar, which is much shorter than expected. So what I guess is happening is that they are cycling through applicants and making interviews and/or offers in batches.
And after discussing with my professor and other PSI students I have decided to accept the offer. I hope to see you guys this fall!

I wonder what kind of questions are you guys talking about during interview? Thank you!qorder wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 10:13 amRegular deadline applicant here. Sorry for this late reply (I don't frequent this forum regularly), but in case you still find my reply helpful, it's mostly standard stuffs. They first asked me to introduce myself and my current research project. Then they quizzed me on undergraduate-level physics topics such as Lagrangian/Hamiltonian mechanics, Twin Paradox, Quantum Mechanics - it's like an oral exam if you had one in your university. They asked me why I applied to PSI and if I had any idea what research I want to do here (I underprepared for this one because I thought the program is mostly course-only, then they told me about the winter school and the research essayEris wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 6:24 amI wonder what kind of questions are you guys talking about during interview? Overall it lasts for around 30 minutes. It felt semi-formal - not that serious, but still feels like a proper interview. Best of luck!
