Graduate Junction

  • As many already know, studying for the physics GRE and getting accepted into a graduate program is not the final hurdle in your physics career.
  • There are many issues current physics graduate students face such as studying for their qualifier, deciding upon a field of research, choosing an advisor, being an effective teaching assistant, trying to have a social life, navigating department politics, dealing with stress, utilizing financial aid, etc.

Graduate Junction

Check out this site if you haven't seen it yet:
http://www.graduatejunction.com

It's intended as a type of facebook for grad school students that is more research oriented than social. It might be an interesting and useful site if we can get enough physics students to sign up.

I know most of the people browsing this forum are either still in undergrad, or are heading into grad school this fall (like me), so we really don't have a lot to write down as far as research interests and publications, but if we can get the size of the community to a "critical mass," maybe the site will be a thriving, useful community by the time we're really ready to start using it for real.

Anyway, check it out, and post any thoughts that you have about it on this thread.
