Not sure of my background to ensure good supervisor..

Being admitted to a good graduate program is pleasant, but I recently become not very confident in finding a good enough supervisor there. What were your experiences in the first year? What could happen if my undergraduate background cannot support me competitive when being selected by the good groups?
