Need help with a Linux install (PGPLOT/iplot)

Post by uhurulol » Mon Dec 15, 2014 1:32 pm

Hi everyone,

So I've been trying for a while to get this program called "iplot" that my advisor runs installed on my home computer. It uses the PGPLOT libraries, so I spent a while getting that installed last night. I didn't get it fully working, but I think the libraries are all there and that's all I need (I hope).

Here is the link to iplot:

The "megalink" file contains a single line that links to the PGPLOT library and a library called "libX11.a." Some Googling informs me that "libX11.a" no longer exists -- is there a workaround for this? I'm fairly new at this type of stuff, and I'd really like to get this installed on my home machine so I can do some research here over the winter break.

Thanks in advance for your help.

For reference, here is PGPLOT:
