to all the savage applicants
to all the savage applicants
We still need to wait for all the domesticated animals to get admitted so I think the best thing to do is to rent some DVD's and watch some movies or to send valentines to the loved ones 'cause in the end, we, the savage, wild, barbaric, undomesticated animals will eat them up
Re: to all the savage applicants
This message is a joke, please take as it is. I have no intention to eat anyone! Peace on earth!
Re: to all the savage applicants
We get it. You're upset about the fact that US students applying to US universities are given priority over international students. Posts like this, though, neither change the reality of the situation, nor make anyone here more likely to help you when you have legitimate concerns, so get over it.
Re: to all the savage applicants
Now don't become vindicative... it's really just a joke!
Maybe it's harder to express the real feeling when writing here: I was in a humorous mood when I thought about "domestic" and "savage"... I'm not upset, please just have some fun with this post. If you or anyone else still feels bad about it tell me and I'll delete it.

Re: to all the savage applicants
Wow nemo, you have a bad sense of humor.
Re: to all the savage applicants
I'm not being vindictive at all. You were complaining about how the US graduate school admissions process isn't meritocratic in one thread, and then starting up another in which you're "joking" that treatment of international applicants is akin to that of undomesticated animals. You're a fan of word play, that's cool, but this thread adds nothing of value to the forum.
Re: to all the savage applicants
we cannot say whatever that we want and expect others not being airritated.
you may joke with your friends like this and they cheer up but it's not really appropriate in a public forum.
I may delete this topic soon.

Re: to all the savage applicants
Your joke really wasn't funny. I didn't even crack a grin. It was a childish, immature cry for attention. Please stop.
Re: to all the savage applicants
pqortic, the tradition of this forum is one of information, yes, but also one of discussion and uncensored banter. I don't think nemo had anything hurtful in mind.
I have moved this to the appropriate forum.

Re: to all the savage applicants
He's just playing on the various meanings of the word "domestic". Maybe it seems strange to non-native speakers?
I think we can all agree it's not a great joke but I don't think there's any reason to get upset.

Re: to all the savage applicants
Sorry, I take back what I said. I hadn't read through the "odd selection rules" thread...
