Well, looks like RG is gone for good. His name next to his posts has been replaced with cancelled20080417. I wasn't always his biggest fan, but he certainly did liven up the boards. Pour out a little liquor in his memory.

I wondered who the hell "canceled20080417" was... just thought it was someone with a silly name, but yea it's what's left of RG. How the hell could this happen? This makes no sense. If he wanted to leave the forum for a while why couldn't he just stop posting... rather than delete his account. Why didn't he say goodbye! This is scary. What could possibly have posessed him to do this? He was the coolest dude on the forum!

I'm glad his posts are still up on the forum. He's said some really hilarious things and hopefully next year's class will see them and get inspired to add some fun to the forum again... Ugh this sux, I'll miss the guy! I hoped the regulars would stay long enough so that we could meet up if we happened upon each other's schools. Now I'll never know what his name was. Through all the frustrations of the admission process and the monotony of checking for decisions every day, seeing RG's posts every day was something I really looked forward to.

As far as a fond farewell, I have to temper my original statement. He wore a little thin on me at about the time of the "male locker room" post, but I think that had something to do with the stress of the time on me. In spite of it all, he made the forum a more lively place, for sure. I think it let the rest of us be a little less businesslike, because we always knew RG would say something even crazier.

And we know his name is definitely NOT Richard GERE.
