Hi I'm working as a Geophysicist in Good Oil company.
I'm aspiring for a Phd in top universities like stanford,caltech..
Many of guys suggesting me not to take GRE Physics as it is not
required for Phd in Geophysics.
But I'm preparing for GRE Physics to add weightage to my CV.
May anyone of you guys give me a good suggestion??
Thanks in advance
Phd in Geophysics
Re: Phd in Geophysics
If you have the time and money to do it and you think you can do well, go ahead and take the Physics GRE. If you end up doing badly, then don't submit the scores to your schools
Re: Phd in Geophysics
I decided to go back for my PhD in Physics after about 4 years working for an electronic measurement company. I had taken the PGRE 5 years ago, the year before I graduated, but I took some time this past fall to take it again. I've only heard from one school so far (accepted!), but they did make a comment that indicated to me that preparing for and retaking the PGRE was an indication to them that I was committed to returning to school.
