So who's taking the test in 2 weeks? I am!
I wrote the 9677 exam today.... nearly killed me. Not a good sign...
Oh well, some more studying, and then I take the last practise test next weekend.
Anyone else starting to get anxious?

Certainly getting nervous over here. Starting to work on my timing - no clue how I'll be able to solve all these problems so quickly!

I'm taking in it in 2 weeks. The timing is a real pain in the ass, also I'm finding that as I revise various areas I begin to forget the subject I originally started with, I learn say thermo now and in about 10 days I'll have to go over thermo stuff again. Just not used to taking exams with so many different areas and under such a short time. Oh well, shall see how it goes.

I'm taking it in October. I'm somewhat nervous. I have been studying for quite some time so I hope it pays off. I think I know the material, but I have to work on my speed.

i am on the track of G1. I can understand the tricks in the questions, e.g. nuclear decay question as a momentum conservation question, but the speed is a problem. the human calculator has to come out i guess

Yeah, I'm in October too. The toughest part is having the discipline to temporarily skip a problem that you know for sure you can do but will take a few minutes to solve.

Don't worry about the 96 GRE. It's BEASTLY, and not really realistic...a perfect score was 69/100.

Yep, good luck guys!!!!!

Be sure to stop back and share anything important about the test day experience that may be helpful for those taking it in the future. Of course, I mean more procedural things... never ever post specific questions.

For instance, I (and several users here) had to take the test on a tiny *** writing surface (one of those moveable boards you find in lecture halls). Mine was smaller than a sheet of 8.5 by 11 inch paper!!! There was no chance of sitting the scantron and the test booklet together. So anyone taking the test at an unfamiliar place needs to be prepared for that. I held the left side of the test booklet with my left hand and laid the right half which had the "scratch paper" on the writing surface and did my computations there. Because there was no room for the scantron, I circled my answers in the book and put them on the scantron later... of course when doing this you must be careful not to run out of time, or to lose track of which # you're recording! But this was much faster than taking the scantron out after every problem! Now that I think about it... if I were left-handed I would've been in trouble :?

Also, if anyone attempted to take it as a walk-in, let everyone know how that went!

Man I'm nervous! I'm feeling really anxious so I'm procrastinating like crazy, being an international applicant doesn't help either!. I'm taking it in two weeks as well, we'll see how it goes. The timing strategy that works for me is skip-skip-skip all the way to classmech problems where the sun shines and life is simple, I get to do at least 10 problems like that and then, with my confidence restored and the initial panic fading away, I go for the rest. I'll take the last sample test this weekend, I got 740 in the last one (I don't remember which.)

I'm a little nervous. Not so much about the test, I keep worrying that I'm not gonna make it on time to the test center :(
I wish i have a car, so i can see where I actually have to go before actual test day.

@ Ren

Check out google maps.If the test center is around a big city you could even see your route on video using the "Street View" option.

Also I don't think there is need for new thread since this is not going to be primarily useful to future students. Creating more threads for random things, increases chaos and makes it harder for people to find relevant information.

@ metric

I know how you feel I am going through the same thing - the closer the test is the less i can concentrate. Unfortunately, I haven't found a solution yet :(

I am so scared i just turn on the television and stare at the screen. If i am just not getting a question, i stop studying for a while. Contrary to what most teachers say, i think last minute studying really helps. specially in gre, where for some questions u just need to know the formula. let's see what happens. till then don't give up (This is more for myself than u guys)
